Former Italian prime minister Aldo Moro, 61, was found dead in a car near the Communist Party headquarters in Rome fifty five days after his kidnapping by Red Brigades. He was shot multiple times with bloodied handkerchiefs and sand in his cuffs suggesting dragging.
