John Muench and Steve Andrew opened scoring with singles, Rice had an RBI single, Muench drew a bases loaded walk, and Andrew hit a long homer in the fifth to boost Welty Way to a 3-0 lead before holding off New Zealand for the victory. The 34 year old Welty Way now 3-0 with two other undefeated teams remaining in the tournament.
