A member of the Iowa Commission for the Blind protested a proposed federal audit urged by a Gov. Ray ad hoc panel saying the agency is already audited annually by the state and that the federal review would be unnecessary. Director John Taylor noted federal approval for the audit to verify proper handling of federal funds. The panel’s findings last month and the commission’s response drew debate over changes and the panel’s toughness.
