District Court actions in Linn County for assault and drug cases
In Linn County Court Arthur D. Larson received up to two years for assault with intent to inflict serious injury on Noel A. Smith after an incident in Marion on January 23. Jeffrey F. Hennessey got a suspended two year sentence and two years probation. Diane G. Rule drew two years probation on two one year terms and a six month jail term for drug charges. Jerry W. Malnix received two years probation on a one year penitentiary sentence for a prior drunk driving offense. Kenneth J. Siemering got one year probation on a 30 day jail term for carrying a weapon with a handgun found in his vehicle on April 7. Rick Ferguson was dismissed of a criminal mischief charge at Chain Lakes campsite. On this date in 1963 Cardinal Montini became Pope Paul VI.
