Kanarek Sues Makers of Helter Skelter Film
Charles Manson defense attorney Irving Kanarek filed a 15 million suit in Los Angeles charging Lorimar Productions CBS-TV and authors Bugliosi and Gentry with invasion of privacy and defamation of character. He alleged the film’s portrayal of the Tate LaBianca murders perverts the trial record and that viewers would recognize him in a fictitious character.
