Growth potential for Mexican oil explored at Cornell College event
Pemex chief geologist Alfonso Baro Santos said Mexico can increase oil output but will regulate growth alongside broader economic goals. He noted offshore reserves off southeastern Mexico offer the best production potential and two new gas plants will boost daily output. Santos tied the topic to US relations and noted the North South summit plans. Cornell College dedication included a $100,000 donation from Russell W. Anderson and his wife for the geology center and guest lecturer program.
