Democratic Hopefuls Can Support Coalition Stand
Washington reports that leading Democratic presidential hopefuls are likely to back a National Farm Coalition statement advocating price supports at no less than 90 percent of parity, production controls, a strategic reserve, and a ban on large non farm corporations. The coalition excludes many major groups including the American Farm Bureau and American National Cattlemen's Association. Republicans say their platform will reflect current policy.
