Louie Stusak 89 a Cedar Rapids native who later lived in Atlanta Ga died Sunday. Born August 9 1882 he was a construction and woodworker and longtime member of Cedar Rapids Carpenters union local 1905 also Cedar Rapids Gun club and Sokols. Survived by daughter Mrs G D Hardigree four sons Hubert Gilbert James all of Atlanta Louis of St Petersburg and two sisters and a brother all of Cedar Rapids 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Services Noon Tuesday at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta conducted by Robert Stusak Patterson Funeral Home in charge.
W Harrison Booze 83 of 316 Sixth street SE Cedar Rapids died Monday after a long illness. Born November 4 1888 in Cedar Rapids he married Ruth Hutton September 7 1916 in Marion. Survived by wife two daughters Mrs Charles Novak Cedar Rapids and Mrs Dale Harris Chicago a brother Myron Ray Booze Cedar Rapids and two grandchildren. Cleo C. Korns age 70 of route two Cedar Rapids died Sunday at Marengo Memorial hospital after farming west of Cedar Rapids for 25 years. Survived by brothers Calvin Hartwick and Nelson Brooklyn. Services Tuesday at 2 at Hartwick Congregational Church. McAninch Funeral Home of Victor in charge.
Memorial services for Herrick and Glenn Howard Turner will be held at Turner East Chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday with the Reverend Wayne Overholser officiating. Burial follows at Cedar Memorial. Friends may visit Turner East until 2 30 p.m. Tuesday. The casket will not be opened after the service.
More than 2,000 dog owners gathered at the Cincinnati courthouse seeking licenses after a newspaper story warned of a crackdown on unlicensed dogs. Local officials were startled by the turnout and the level of public response.
The Linn County recorder reports 260 verified trade name statements filed since charges were filed May 4 against two Cedar Rapids bookstores for operating without filing. 118 filings occurred in the last two weeks, double the normal yearly average, with a May 26 deadline extended to June 9.
Roofing contractors and union members met to resolve a renewed dispute after a Saturday walkout tied to pay timing under the new contract. Roofers won a 5.5 percent wage boost for the coming year, while prior talks centered on old wage classifications. Roofer workers are not picketing job sites.

Mr and Mrs William Lange of Marion received word that their son and family in Rapid City survived flooding from Canyon Lake dam breach. The Langes camped in Deadwood area then traveled through heavy rains fall ing trees and rocks to reach Custer before returning home. Their Rapid City offices now serve as a KOTA communications center.
Washington republic press reports House leaders postponed action on a proposed $5.3 billion annual revenue sharing bill citing insufficient votes. Speaker Albert conceded the bill may be taken up next week, marking a second postponement.
Rapid City authorities released a partial list of flood fatalities from Friday night and Saturday. Judge Marshall Young said names were identified under extreme circumstances and many addresses are unknown. The list includes William Magner, George Carter, and numerous residents from Rapid City and surrounding areas.
