First Presbyterian marks 175 years in Marion
The Marion First Presbyterian Church celebrates 175 years since its founding by nine Linn Grove settlers in 1842. Pastor Rev. Howard Chapman notes long pastorates, a lineage of descendants among members, and a tradition of unity amid changing membership. Outdoor services on Fathers Day will honor the church’s history near a remaining wall of the original building.
