Central City kicks off downtown events this month
Central City launches a weekly farmers market at Brendel Park today from 4 30 to 7 p m with about a half dozen vendors and a nonprofit fundraising table. A second event Come Back Downtown runs Saturday 2 to 5 p m featuring a historical tour kid friendly entertainment and refreshments.

St Ludmila's Church in Cedar Rapids holds a weekend Czech celebration centered on kolaches sold at a drive up window from 9 am to 2 pm Friday and inside the school cafeteria later. The event features carnival rides, bike parade, a kids parade, polka masses, and live Czech music.
