Williamsburg Aquatic Center construction proceeds with community support
Corbin Blythe and his brothers helped dig the first hole for Williamsburgs three million dollar aquatic center funded by the Roland and Ruby Holden Foundation and Williamsburg Community Recreation Foundation. The two level recreation complex will be built on city land beside sports facilities and is set to open next June, with a five million dollar recreation center due in fall 2002. Mayor Murray Armstrong expects the centers to attract residents to stay and enjoy new amenities for children and adults. Ruby Holden recalls summers on water slides and hopes her descendants can share the same joy at the new site.
