Linn District Court Dismissals and Penalties Report
The Linn County District Court records show multiple cases: Jolene M. Marx, 17, had a Feb 6 disobedience charge to an approaching train dismissed. Jeffrey L. Merrell, 18, had a May 14 driver's license violation dismissed. Robert J. Berends, 44, found guilty May 13 of driving with a suspended license and credited two days in jail. Abby A. Forst, 17, had a March 25 gross fraud charge dismissed. W. T. Kuhlman was given a 120 day suspended sentence plus 60 days at a correction center on a Sept 2 gross fraud charge. Michael H. Brecht, 19, pled guilty May 27 to amended speeding from reckless driving and fined $40. Kenneth J. Gorsh, 23, received a 30 day suspended sentence for March 21 assault and battery. Robert E. Bos, 20, had a drunk driving charge on March 14 with license revoked and required class attendance. Edwin L. Darling, 35, charged May 4 with drunk driving, fined $300 and ordered to attend classes. Others charged with intoxication include Gary L. Nortmann, Larry L. Becker, and Larry J. Martin, all fined small amounts and costs. Edward G. Jones and Merle M. Price were each fined $25 and costs.
