Sirica noted he lacks jurisdiction until the high court issues an order.
After a 13 hour marathon session the joint arbitration committee announced a new two year contract for Cedar Rapids area plumbers covering Linn Johnson Tama Iowa Benton and Jones counties. Details remain withheld pending talks with striking laborers and contractor groups.
Two brothers Dayton Schellsmidt and Richard Schellsmidt died after being buried under 800 bushels of shelled corn while supporting an overhead floor with jacks near Lansing Iowa. The accident happened at 11 30 a m on the Schellsmidt farm. The father Elmer was injured but not in the direct path. The brothers were recovered after about two and a half hours. Joint services are set for 10 a m Saturday at Burke Thornburg funeral home Lansing. Richard survived by wife and one son Dayton by two daughters.
