Ex Hawk Roscetti hot in Wisconsin MWL bid stand
Former Hawkeye infielder Nick Roscetti of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers is hitting .326 over recent games in the Midwest League. He went 1-for-4 with a run in a 7-2 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Veterans Memorial Stadium, citing adjustments like a smoother hand path and putting the ball in play. He was a 2016 Brewers 26th round pick and spins tales of contact practice with hitting coach Hainley Statin as several ex-Hawkeyes also pursue pro baseball. The Kernels saw the three-game series finale slip away as Wisconsin built a late lead in the sixth.
