Iowa’s fetal heartbeat law halted in temporary injunction
The Iowa fetal heartbeat abortion law will be on hold after Polk County District Judge Michael D. Huppert accepted a mutual stipulation to delay the July 1 effective date. Plaintiffs Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and Emma Goldman Clinic challenge the law’s constitutionality, while the Coalition of Pro-Life Leaders supports the delay for a merits resolution.
