Burlington votes to restore council manager government

Cedar Rapids 14 year old held after blowgun attack
A 14 year old Cedar Rapids youth was arrested after allegedly using a homemade blowgun to shoot two other juveniles around 430 PM Tuesday. One boy was struck twice, in the left forearm and right shoulder blade, by darts made from hypodermic needles and cotton swabs. The weapon was a plastic drinking straw. A second boy was injured nearby near First Avenue and 29th Street NE. The suspect was arrested outside the bank after being detained by a victim’s father.
