The annual Camp Hitaga horse show will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Camp Fire Girls camp near Walker. It is a riding exhibition, not a competition, with classes from beginner to advanced and a water race. Counselors and lead horses listed accompany a large group of participating girls and overnight campers in Ellis Park.
Fifty four Eastern Iowa women turned out for the Cedar View Country Club invitational. Medalist was Mrs. Joe Cohn of Indian Creek CC with 50. Awards went to Jean Smith Iowa City for most birdies and to several players for club lows, most on hole 1, most 9s and most putts. Twelve prize cards were awarded. Breakfast and luncheon served with hostesses Mrs. Huston and Mrs. Jones.
Sixty women played in the Elmcrest Golf and Country Club blind bogey event on Thursday. Ann Mallon led with a 48 while winners included Mrs Hugo Schenken Mrs J Dwight Turner Mrs Giles Joyce and Mrs J Vincent Heuer. Afternoon bridge prizes went to Mrs David McCurnin and Mrs J Malcolm Hume with canasta won by Mrs Heuer and Mrs Raymond Happel.
President and Mrs. Edgar C. Cumings of Coe College will attend a dinner honoring Alan Valentine former economic stabilization administrator. Hosts are President and Mrs. Virgil M. Hancher of the University of Iowa. Valentine will speak at the fifth summer lecture at the Iowa Memorial Union bandshell or Macbride auditorium if rain.
The Presbyterian church in Springville hosted the wedding of Carol Jane Ralston and Pvt. Robert Myers. Parents are Mr and Mrs C W Ralston of Springville and Mrs Olive Myers. Attendants were Bonnie Kelley and Walter Krause. Myers is stationed at Camp Rucker Alabama.
Sandra and Mary Jane Griswold daughters of Mr and Mrs Larry Griswold 1812 Second Avenue SE Cedar Rapids returned Thursday from Camp Lake Hubert Minnesota where they vacated for a month. Accompanying them was their brother Victor who has been attending Camp Lincoln.
Mrs. Charles Farber and her children Gerald and Miriam of Grand Rapids Michigan visit the home of Mrs Faber s parents Mr and Mrs A Rapoport 2301 Blake boulevard SE Dr Farber will join his family next week.
