St Luke's Methodist Hospital installs microfiche readers in ten nursing units and records all patient files from 1966 to 1973 on film. Current year records stay on paper while past records are stored on microfiche for compactness, cost savings, and quick access. Copies accompany current files on admission, with originals kept securely in a fireproof safe.

Square D Reports Record Q2 Earnings and Sales
Square D Co. based in Cedar Rapids reports second quarter ended June 30 with net earnings of 15.91 million or 66 cents per share, up from 11.15 million or 47 cents in 1976. Consolidated net sales reach 152.67 million, compared with 132.12 million a year earlier, plus a pre tax gain on equipment sale of 2.574 million.

Raytheon posts record second quarter results with 96 cents per share and 28 percent income gain to 29.48 million on sales of 712.78 million. Six months of 1977 yield 1.71 per share earnings on 1.374 billion in sales, with 1976 figures at 40.91 million and 1.171 billion. Mid-year headcount rises to 56,000.
