Linn-Mar Community Schools require physical exams for all students entering junior or senior high athletic programs and for kindergartners and grades three six nine and 11. Males in grades seven to 12 may attend August 4 at the high school 630 to 900 pm and junior/senior high females August 9 at Dr Thomas Wright’s office 985 31st St 630 to 900 pm. Forms come from the high school office. a 12 dollar fee and parent signatures are needed. Students new to Linn-Mar must provide immunization certification.

Marion High to Offer Russian in Fall
Russian will be offered at Marion High School this fall under a six-tenths contract with Kenan Virlee, a rural Martello resident certified in French Latin and Russian who has taught the three languages in Wisconsin for 16 years. The district will allow Linn-Mar students to enroll in beginning Russian through its cooperative program.

14 year old Marion boy burned by electrical line
A 14 year old from Marion is in fair condition at St Luke s Hospital after contacting an electrical wire while climbing a tree and then a utility pole. He suffered burns to his arms and legs and briefly lost consciousness before recovery.
