Judge bars videotaped interview in Decker attempted murder case
Cedar Rapids judge ruled a video interview with Errol Decker inadmissible in the attempted murder case. Decker faces willful injury and first-degree robbery charges for allegedly stabbing his ex girlfriend Amy McNeal and striking her with a hammer at her Cedar Rapids home. The ruling cites Decker’s repeated refusal to answer questions and an improper promise of leniency by the officer. A bench trial is scheduled for Aug. 15. He remains in Linn County Jail on 250000 dollars cash bail.
