Coralville Lake Beach Shrinks Swim Area After Drownings
The Army Corps of Engineers will reduce the outer boundary of the West Overlook swimming area at Coralville Lake by 50 to 80 feet closer to shore after three incidents in three weeks, two drownings and a near drowning. Posters will warn about lifejackets and the buddy system. The agency notes swimmers at its beaches swim at their own risk.
