Cedar Rapids based Foundation II for runaway and homeless youth was awarded a 67350 federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services. Executive director Kent Jackson said the funding supports the year’s expansion, including a contract with United Action for Youth in Johnson County to use all Foundation II programs and hire staff. The grant aids outreach to Iowa City area youths near the University of Iowa and along Interstate 80, with past services reaching hundreds of youths and families in counseling and preventive programs.
