Linn supervisors delay wind rule changes in county

Linn County Board of Supervisors postponed until July 29 a second reading of amendments to the utility scale wind ordinance. No large wind projects are planned. changes target noise debris cleanup and setback rules with broader public feedback sought on the draft through linncountyiowa.gov.

Two Dead in Linn County Highway Crash East of Cedar Rapids

Two people died Sunday when a Chevrolet Cruz and a Nissan Rogue collided on Highway 18 at Blaine's Crossing Road east of Cedar Rapids. First responders found both vehicles in the median. occupants of the Cruz died at the scene, while the Rogue driver survived. Names have not been released pending family notification. The sheriff's office continues the investigation with multiple first responder agencies assisting.
