ISU storm chasing course ends with lessons and near misses
Iowa State University students and instructors completed an eight day storm chasing trip across the Midwest. They observed the May 21 EF-3 Carbon tornado from close range and launched weather balloons for the National Weather Service. The trip included visits to the Storm Prediction Center and Twistex Memorial in Oklahoma and a stop in Wakita near the Twister museum, ending with reflections at a Joplin memorial.
