Budget hike sought to boost USDA information office
UPI reports in Washington that Congress will fund a roughly 1.1 million dollar increase in the Agriculture Department information office for fiscal year starting July 1 to explain farm policy to nonfarmers. The plan, pushed by Rep. Jamie Whitten, includes pilots and urban outreach, with Gifford framing it as public education rather than propaganda.
