Father Charged as Ex-Husband Reunites With Kids
Beverly Davis flew from Urbandale Iowa to St Louis Missouri to help arrest her former husband Samuel Copeland on an Iowa child stealing warrant. Copeland and an unknown man are accused of taking Ami four and Cecelia one from Mrs Davis last December and taking them to Israel last March. Davis had fought a $20 000 custody battle and an Israeli supreme court ruled in her favor. Copeland posed as returning for the children with a staged itinerary through St Louis Memphis and New Orleans. An Urbandale police officer and a BCI agent accompanied Davis to St Louis where authorities found Copeland. The federal kidnapping law did not cover the December incident per US justice department.
