Richland Woman Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
Patricia Stone, 42, of Richland, Iowa, died in a one vehicle crash two miles north of Richland on County Road 6 67 near Keokuk County. Reported at 2 30 a.m. the Iowa State Patrol said she lost control while driving south and overturned in the east ditch.

Wisconsin family escapes crash landing in Cedar County field
A Wisconsin family escaped unharmed after their 1960 Cessna 210 piloted by Aaron Thompson experienced engine trouble and forced a landing in a Cedar County field Thursday night. The plane was destroyed but Thompson his wife Tammy and daughters Brittany and Brenna were not injured. They walked to nearby Hasselbusch farm to call authorities. Clarence lies about 35 miles east of Cedar Rapids.

Wheel bearing sparks brush fire on I-380 near Swisher
Swisher Fire Chief Ken Barta said a broken wheel and dry conditions caused a brush fire along Interstate 380 near Swisher on Friday afternoon. The overheated bearing ignited dry brush from a semi truck wheel breaking loose. Driver reported flames started as the wheel hit the grass.
