Cedar Rapids skaters led by Ann Cooper qualified for the Chicago Tribune Silver Skates finals after strong showings in preliminaries and semifinals. Six Iowa college players appear on NFL draft lists from four clubs. Tom Bienemann of Drake and Webb Halbert of Iowa State were picked by the Chicago Cardinals. Bill Chauncey and Don Winslow went to the Washington Redskins. Bob Angle joined the Chicago Bears. Connie Callahan of Morningside went to the Detroit Lions.
