Cedar Rapids TOYM events draw Jaycee leaders from 30 states
About 350 out of town guests attended the TOYM events and national Jaycee executive council meeting in Cedar Rapids. Delegates from 30 states and Canada joined the festivities at the Roosevelt hotel with University of Iowa film students recording the banquet for a 10 minute newsreel.

Engineer Learns 78 Cars Missing
MEMPHIS (UP) The engineer of an 80 car freight traveled 14 miles through fog unaware that a business man had uncoupled all but two cars. M. E. Cockrell of West Point Mississippi arraigned on unlawfully disabling a Gulf Mobile and Ohio train. He admitted uncoupling all but two boxcars on Jan 9 and was released on $1000 bond. Alfred I Means FBI said the train stopped at a crossing and the pin was pulled from the second car back.

Clarence Watson pleads innocent to car theft charge
Clarence D. Watson, 16, of Shellsburg pled innocent before Judge Floyd Philbrick on a car theft count. He allegedly took a vehicle in Cedar Rapids last week and drove it to Milan Illinois. Watson is held in the county jail in default on a $1,000 bond.
