Drunk driving cases under scrutiny in Iowa courts

SAIGON UPI reports Laotian reinforcements have broken through Communist lines and retaken Skyline ridge near Long Cheng, a CIA base 80 miles northeast of Vientiane. Heavy fighting continues as government troops try to push North Vietnamese from the ridge. In Saigon, Allied command notes this past week’s Communist attacks in South Vietnam are the heaviest since October election disruptions.

Sister Hawkins Suspended Over Meeting On Police Corruption

Turner Weighs Court Appeal After Iowa Ruling
Des Moines AP. Attorney General Richard Turner said he and staff would decide over the weekend whether to appeal the Iowa Supreme Court ruling that the 1971 legislature reapportionment plan is unconstitutional for defying the U.S. one man, one vote standard. Turner noted one other group aiding the appeals question but would not name it. Rep. Elizabeth Shaw and Senate Majority Leader Clifton Sanborn said they would consider appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. Turner’s initial Friday reaction was cautious.
