Court ruling upholds dismissal in school desegregation suit

The Supreme Court affirmed dismissal of a suit challenging New Jersey’s school system as unconstitutional due to district minority percentages. Chief Justice Questions Appeal On Reapportionment Plan

City Sets Action on Bender Pool

City council will take action Wednesday to assume operation of the Elizabeth Bender pool. An ad hoc committee told the group that ownership of the pool rests with the city since the land is city property. Jane Boyd Community House officials delivered a letter requesting take over. Repairs and heating system upgrades have been completed. remaining repairs were estimated at 6900 dollars. The Tyler school program will continue under the current pool contract.
