Enrolment is about 50. conditions include no driveway use by delivery parents, enrollment capped at 50, removal of yard loud speakers, fence reduced to 40 inches, and health and fire certificates. If terms are unmet a permanent injunction will halt operations.

Traer Truck Line Operator Dies at 68
Peter Whannel of Traer, aged 68, died Wednesday morning in a Waterloo hospital after a monthlong illness. He founded the first Traer truck line 30 years ago and ran it continually. Survived by his wife and son Murray, a student at Iowa State.

December Crash Total Sets Record in Iowa
Winter driving hazards pushed Iowa to a record 6 670 traffic accidents in December, the highest monthly total since the state began this reporting system in October 1947. The previous record was 5 342 in January 1950 and the prior low was 3 559 in April last year.

Man Held for Pocketing Warrant During Police Raids
Lelander Osborn of Sioux City was jailed after allegedly confessing to picking the pocket of a police raiding officer. The loot was a warrant for the arrest of three teenagers on large‑scale charges. Osborn allegedly tore the warrant to bits and disposed of it in a restroom.
