Regional forecast calls for partly cloudy and warmer conditions Tuesday night with low near 15 to 20 ahead. Wednesday remains fair and mild with highs 35 to 40 northeast and 40 to 50 southwest. W C Manning Jr aged 24, former Cedar Rapids resident, died at Beaumont Texas at 1 30 a m after bulbar poliomyelitis. Survived by wife Rose a son David Wayne his parents Mr and Mrs W C Manning a sister Shirley of Beaumont and a brother Robert in Cedar Rapids with the U S army. Attending services at Beaumont Tuesday were a list of local residents.
Joseph Dostal aged 73 died Monday at his Cedar Rapids home 2426 Sixteenth Street NW. His son Joseph A. Dostal found the body Tuesday morning. Coroner Robert Brosh confirmed the death. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Ross Peck and Mrs. L. M. Carpenter, a stepson Jerry Metela, and four grandchildren. The body lay at Brush Chapel with funeral plans announced later.
Funeral services for Myrtle Lavina O'Donnell widow of Steve O'Donnell take place at Turner chapel at 1 30 p m Wednesday with Rev Ralph Colton of Sinclair Memorial church officiating. Burial will be in Springville cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.

Dr. Waite, the company veterinarian, spoke on recent advances in improved livestock rations.
A block of Cedar Rapids teachers urged the school board to grant a $200 cost of living pay increase now, arguing rising living costs and a $600 across the board proposal. The board refused immediate raises, instead ordering a joint committee with two board members and two teachers to craft a revised salary schedule for later action.

The Linn county case against Dr. Robert C. Rutledge Jr. proceeds to the Iowa Supreme Court with Rutledge appealing a May 1949 second degree murder conviction. Prosecutors Crissman and Elderkin, former county officials now in private practice, were appointed to assist the state, with Don Hise also preparing the brief filed last week. Rutledge remains free on 40000 bond pending the high court ruling due mid March.
The Colonial Baking Company and Donald Aalberg sue for 7500 in damages after a collision near Olds in Henry county. Defendants include Watkins Motor Lines Georgia entities and drivers David Johnson and George F Fox. Aalberg suffered facial injuries and permanent disfigurement. The January term petit jury panel reports at 9 a m January 16.
The Iowa supreme court affirmed the March 1 1950 conviction of H. Austin Rector 34 for embezzlement by agent. Indicted in November 1949 for theft of 169.96 dollars from A and T Chemical Co while employed there, Rector began a five year term in Fort Madison in August 1950 after trial before Judge J E Heiserman.
James B Huskey 53 of 868 Twenty first Street SE pled guilty to a drunk driving charge. Judge J E Heiserman fined him 300 with costs and allowed payment in 50 down and 50 a month after a Sunday Cedar Rapids arrest for a collision near 3016 Center Point Road NE. He was previously fined 100 and costs in traffic court on December 30 for drunkenness after being found behind the wheel in a ditch.
Judge M C Hamiel appointed Arthur Clauss R K Hotchkiss and Martin Roemiig as appraisers for Dad's Root Beer Bottling Company now in receivership since December 11. Receiver Adam A Kreuter filed the application for asset valuation. Charles Benson's will, dated December 23, was admitted to probate appointing Flavia Benson and daughter Marie Arnett as executors without bond. Newman Mercantile Company sued Pearl L Livingston.
Clar ence J. Scanlan had a damage suit against Merlyn A. Myers dismissed on motion of the plaintiff. The action involved an alleged balance of $102.66 on an account.
