Man Fined 300 For Drunk Driving

Jerry Purdin age 31 of Springville pled guilty in Linn district court to drunk driving. Judge Warren Rees imposed a 300 dollar fine and revoked his license for 60 days after Purdin was arrested February 19. Sheriff Walter Gran said he saw the vehicle leave the road and enter a ditch on Highway 15 near Mount Vernon Road SE.

Feaker Indicted in Ely Bank Robbery Case

Federal grand jury indicted Beryl D. Feaker 40 of Mt. Vernon on two counts related to the Ely First Trust and Savings Bank robbery. Feaker pled not guilty at arraignment after the indictments were returned. Authorities suspect a third person may have been involved.
