Man Converts Car to Run on Cooking Oil
A Cerro Gordo County man, Craig Howard, converted a 1983 VW Rabbit to run on used cooking oil from local restaurants. He reports 40 mpg since August, says the system is safe and easy, and seeks a fuel tax exemption for renewable energy vehicles with support from Gov. Vilsack and lawmakers.
