WWII veteran recalls wearing Nazi gear to prove a point
Henry Roling, a 100 percent German World War II veteran from Earlville, once wore a Nazi coat hat mustache and boots in a tavern to show how intimidating the image could be. He found the memorabilia in a German hospital during the war and kept parts of the collection, later sharing it with his daughter and at school and reflecting on his mixed feelings about his heritage and service.
