Retail Merchants Push Radical Iowa Beer Bill
Iowa Retail Merchants sponsor a sweeping beer bill to shift permit power to a state control commission. The plan creates a state beer control commission and inspection department, with towns retaining limited local say and funds split between state and local governments. Brewers must use barley, and hours extend to seven days a week with 1 to 7 a.m. closure.
