Mrs. Hancock at 370 Eighth Avenue created a Madonna and Christ Child on her front window using water and household detergent. Food coloring provided needed hues as she enlarged a Christmas card image. The Hancock family plans Christmas with Ralph’s parents in Argyle.
Evelyn Green of Springfield Illinois arrived Saturday to visit her parents Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Green. The Greens and their daughter will travel to Oelwein this afternoon to be guests of their son Rev. Merton Green and his family.

Trucker died Saturday when his gas transport collided with a semi on highway 218 eight miles south of Charles City. Jerome L. Strong 18 of Rolfe an Iowa State College student was killed Friday night when his car skidded on frost on U S 169 eight miles north of Humboldt and overturned. Mrs Don R Coffman 20 of Des Moines an expectant mother died Friday night at a Des Moines hospital from injuries after being struck by a laundry truck while crossing a downtown street.
