IE to Move Marion Office to 360 Seventh Ave Monday
Iowa Electric plans relocating its Marion office after 40 years from its current site to 360 Seventh Ave. The four staff will shrink to one, but the same phone number and services will remain. a drive-in depository will open soon and bill payments will be handled there. Betty Parker stays on. downtown bill payment site planned for seniors. Office opens at 9 a.m. Monday.

Marion bypass gains formal OK from IDOT unit
The Iowa Department of Transportation approves the Highway 151 Marion bypass for five year funding. Plans call for $2 million for right of way next year with rest in 1984 and 1986 grading and paving. The four lane route runs from Cedar Rapids to Marion linking with First Avenue. Collins Road extension adds south access. Total cost today is $14.7 million, estimated $23 million by 1986.

Drunk Driving Sentences in Linn District Court
Twenty four people charged with drunken driving were sentenced in the First Avenue division. Jeffrey L. Sanders 21 of 830 15th Ave SW received 300 dollar fine and two days in jail with one day credit and probation plus drunk drivers school. Others had charges dismissed or received probation or suspended sentences. Eighteen others were placed on probation to attorneys or Department of Corrections after pleading guilty and receiving deferred sentences.

Cedar Rapids Recreation Commission announced holiday open swim hours at Bender Indoor Pool. From 2 to 4 p.m. on December 26 27 28 and 29. 7 to 9 p.m. on December 30. Closed December 23 24 25 31 and January 1.
