Nolan Hints Super Road Bond Issue
Des Moines AP Sen D C Nolan Iowa City chair of the Iowa Road Study committee hints lawmakers may propose a state bond issue to finish the 700 mile interstate network by 1965. He says revenue bonds could pay off with future federal funds and create a 20 year road network at the state 10 percent share plus interest and maintenance. The legislature would need voter approval. Nolan and two Cedar Rapids good roads members discuss funding and tax options as John Baldridge is elected president of the association.
