Municipal airport noon conditions show WNW wind 25 to 35 mph. Several obituaries and service notices list names and times for St. Paul’s Lutheran, Hawe’s, and other area churches.

Mrs S T Wilder 24 of Ames was killed in a Wednesday car crash near Cameron Missouri about 50 miles north of Kansas City She was an airline hostess for TWA and was driving to Ames to meet her husband Stephen Tudor Wilder a student at Iowa State University She was married last June to Wilder and was the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Forringer of Winnetka

Emma Rabus of Cedar Rapids announces the death of her son Arnold H. Rabus on Tuesday in Philadelphia. Born July 2, 1891, in Cedar Rapids, he was the son of Emma and the late G. F. Rabus. He attended Concor dia College and the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and worked in the dispatch office of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Surviving are his wife Christine, married March 27, 1916, and three sisters Gertrude Benecke and Mrs. William Kottmeier and Mrs. Richard Kottmeier, all of Cedar Rapids. Services are Saturday morning at Mulligan funeral home in Philadelphia with Rev. Samuel Armstrong.
Verna M. McFall wife of Theodore O. McFall of 1108 C Ave NW Cedar Rapids died early Thursday after a brief illness. Born August 3 1888 in Des Moines county she married March 6 1910 in Hedrick. Surviving are her husband a daughter Mrs John H Majerus and a Denver grandson and a sister Hazel Taylor of Salt Lake City. She belonged to Olivet Presbyterian Church. Services at Turner chapel at 3 Saturday by Rev Robert J MacDanel. Burial Linwood. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday.
Sultan Washington AP reported a stocky blond 17 year old girl recounted a 90 minute kidnapping at knife point by a middle aged man. He demanded 25000 and left a 2000 dollar portion in a service station phone booth. The girl escaped and there was no trace of the kidnapper. FBI and local police pursued leads.
Two Linn county supervisors favor legalized bingo at county fairs to raise revenue. Dudley Henderson and Anthony Scolaro support bingo with Henderson open to lobbying efforts while avoiding pari mutuel betting comments. Their stance follows the Des Moines driven push by the Fair Managers Assn for legalized bingo.
