Robert Rhea 74 Sigourney dies after stroke
Robert E. Rhea, 74, a retired Sigourney businessman, died Sunday in a local hospital after a stroke. Born in Crawfordsville and a Monmouth College alumnus, he taught in southern Iowa before moving to Sigourney in 1927. He managed the Better Foods store for 20 years, retiring in 1947, and remained active until 18 months ago. Survivors include his wife Zellia, a son L. E. Rhea of Sigourney, three grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. Arrangements are at Reynolds funeral home.
