Nelson Re-elected Park Board Chairman for 1978
Park Board members unanimously re-elected William Nelson as chairman for 1978 with Fred Weber as vice chairman and Charles Kress as secretary. They approved a one season open air farmers market at Thomas Park from June to September with $5 daily or $25 seasonal permits. The board raised community center room fees to 7.50 and exempted senior citizen and city groups. Ice rinks await freezing, and a Donnelley Park wood-cutting permit system was approved. A Shive Hattery Associates contract tops $1,800 for Oakshade Cemetery 10th addition survey. YMCA Marion schedule listed activities and a home sale at 2390 First Avenue completed by Century 21 Stepker.
