All Iowa Fair Board open meetings question raised

The All Iowa Fair Board did not submit a resolution to comply with Iowa open meetings law at its Thursday session. President Joe Hladky III suggested meetings should follow the law, though committees report to the board and may not fall under open meetings. Hladky seeks a new president as George Clifford cannot assume duties due to health. The board faced questions after reports of meetings held without public notice or minutes. The Fair received 71092 dollars from Linn County for the year ending June 30. The board planned to interview a candidate for president at Thursday’s meeting.
