Linn County adds marked snowmobile routes for 40 miles

The Linn County Board of Supervisors approved about 40 miles of marked snowmobile routes in the county road system. West route from Center Point to Cedar Rapids and a south route to Ely will use diamond signs. cost for west trail posts estimated at 2400 dollars. Rescuers whip winter odds in Walford rescue

A snowmobile, ambulance, snow plow, pickup and railroad locomotive teamed to transport Carl Williams to Mercy Hospital in Walford after chest pains. Williams, 51, remained stable at 9 p.m. as Iowa endured subzero temps and 45 mph winds.
