Middle East pastor commends Carter amid Iran crisis
The Rev. Leonard Rodgers of Youth for Christ International praised President Carter for his reasonable calm handling of the Tehran hostage crisis. Rodgers, who lived in Beirut 11 years and was evacuated during the 1967 Arab–Israeli war, urged rational responses and cited the power of ideas over weapons. He travels the U.S. sharing World Youth for Christ programs and said global religious perspectives enrich understanding of the crisis.
