YMCA’s aging Washington pool prompts capital campaign
The Washington County YMCA seeks a new $10.8 million facility after years of aging infrastructure including a deteriorating indoor pool with major drain issues. Officials note crowded program spaces and noncompliance with accessibility standards, while membership and non-member use rise. A $3.5 million grant from the Riverboat Foundation boosted fundraising as planners envision a four‑acre site near downtown to anchor a wellness area with sports fields and a walking trail.
