Foreign nations accused by Dies committee of propaganda
The Dies committee named Great Britain Germany Italy France Russia Japan Poland Spain China and Holland as actively waging war propaganda in the United States. It said these nations budget heavily for propaganda and that many Americans have become unwitting targets. The panel cited possible violations of the 1939 foreign agents registration act.
