Farm Advisor Optimistic On Viet Land Reform Progress
Former Eastern Iowan Max Sauerbry, a land reform adviser in South Vietnam, said the program would continue despite U.S. disengagement and that land ownership records are being established to support settlement. He noted rice mechanization potential, rising hog and poultry projects, and the need for protein feeds, while predicting farmers could achieve three to four crops yearly with new rice varieties. Sauerbry plans to become farm director for KMMJ Grand Island Nebraska after Washington briefings.
