Emma Louise Turkington born June 3 1926 to Rudolf and Anna Hlavacek lived in Cedar Rapids after graduating McKinley High School in 1944. She was a NASW certified professional insurance woman and retired as a supervisor from Western Fraternal Life. A volunteer at St Luke's and a regular at beauty shops she enjoyed books travels fishing bowling preserves cooking gardening and casino trips. She is survived by granddaughters great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life is set for September 10 2024 at Brosh Funeral Home Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 PM.

Andrew Wayne Meyers known as Andy, 76, of Fairfax Iowa died August 19 2024 at Hospice House. Visitation August 25 at Brush Chapel Cedar Rapids followed by rosary. funeral August 26 at St John XXIII Catholic Church with military rites. Born December 1 1947, he served in the Air Force 1968-72 and belonged to Local 125 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union and Fairfax American Legion. He married Mary Rita Stallman on July 4 1974 and had three sons Brad Matt and Brian plus six granddaughters and one grandson.
